About Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid is all about giving people the confidence and skills to look after one another. It’s a practical, compassionate approach that helps you notice when someone might be struggling, start a supportive conversation, and guide them towards the right help. MHFA courses create safe, open spaces where we can talk honestly about mental health, learn together, and build stronger, more caring workplaces and communities. Whether you're supporting colleagues, children, families, or friends, MHFA equips you to make a real difference when it matters most.

As a certified MHFA Instructor, I’m passionate about helping people feel confident, supported, and empowered to talk about mental health. I create a welcoming, safe, and interactive learning environment where participants can explore real-life scenarios, practise supportive conversations, and gain practical skills they can use immediately. With a background in education and wellbeing, I understand the unique pressures people face and bring empathy, experience, and a calm, approachable style to every session. My goal is to help participants leave feeling equipped, confident, and inspired to make a positive difference in their workplaces and communities.

FAQ

Is the MHFA course delivered online?

Yes. The course is delivered live online, making it easy to join from any location. You’ll participate in interactive activities, group discussions, and practical exercises just as you would in person. The virtual format is flexible, engaging, and designed to ensure you feel fully supported throughout the training.

I'm not a Mental Health Professional - can I still do this course?

Yes! You don’t need any prior experience. MHFA training is designed for everyone, providing practical skills and guidance you can use in everyday situations. It’s about learning to support others safely, not offering therapy.

You’ll feel confident spotting signs of mental health challenges, listening without judgment, offering reassurance, and signposting to further support. You’ll also gain tools to maintain your own wellbeing and contribute to a mentally healthier environment.
